The Wedding!

Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
  • Only a few of our family and friends can attend the actual ceremony itself. If we can accommodate you, we will contact you individually.
We, Jed and Sarah, have chosen to be married in a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Marriages in LDS temples are simple ceremonies, performed by specially appointed men, who are given the power by God to marry a man and a woman to each other "for time and all eternity." Latter-day Saints often refer to these temple weddings as "sealings," in part because they result in the couple's being bound permanently together before God. We are trying to prepare prayerfully for this important and fantastically holy moment. In fact, we've each been trying to prepare for the holiness of this covenant moment our whole lives. (As Mormons, we believe the ceremony of being married in the temple is a sacred ordinance, like sacrament or baptism.)

Note: The LDS temple wedding ceremony lasts 20-30 minutes total. The individuals attending the ceremony have to be at the temple thirty minutes before.
